pool bliss

If you cannot read it in my typing, I will just let you know, this momma has found pregnant bliss today....THE POOL IS OPEN! I figured it would be awesome, but hello, my life has just changed for the next seven weeks! Yep, if anyone needs to find us, we'll be at the pool every sunny day so I can rest my big belly while Lucy wears herself out. Here is the kicker, she is happier being there than I am...she is my little fish. Hope everyone has a great Memorial weekend, have a margarita for me!

Conner Prairie

Papa C. took Lucy back to the 1800's today at Conner Prairie! In doing some online research, I knew it would be right up her ally with the Animal Encounters Barn, she could have stayed in there all day with the animals roaming around and even getting to hold a baby chicken, she was in heaven. Then we realized animals were throughout the entire property and she had so much fun chasing the chickens, seeing baby pigs, horses, cows and sheep. Lucy was so cute sitting at a desk in the school house, recently she has taken a real interest in where all the neighbor kids are all day, so she was grinning over being in school like a big girl. Mommy helped make a candle and Papa even got to see the progress of a gun being handmade, it was a win win day for everyone.

ouch

We have had our first injury of the summer. "Injury" with child number one, soon just to be a boo boo. We are not sure exactly what happened, Lucy was face down in the driveway. Oh yeah, running with no shoes on...guess this counter acts my proud mommy moment yesterday.
So, my sweet girl has two scraped knees and a bleeding toe, poor thing. This landed her an ice cream sandwich and unlimited play on Daddy's Iphone.
The second picture is my tourniquet...good thing I didn't follow that dream to be a doctor! LOL

no tears

I know most of you like pictures, but tonight I am just blogging my proud mom moment today. For those of you that do not know, we usually have a very tough time with Lucy at Church, she wants nothing to do with going into the childcare room, NOTHING. We have tried several approaches. Today, because of my huge belly, I had Lucy walk all the way into church and her room. Once we got in the room, she looked up at me and said, "Mommy, want to play?" I could hardly believe my ears and let her take me by the hand. Once she started showing interest in some of the toys, I backed away...nope, she caught me and started screaming, but I wasn't giving up. She went back for some toys and was building a block tower with a volunteer and I snuck out. I went back a few times to check, expecting to peek in the window and see her hysterical, but there she was tear free. The second time I went back, a volunteer found me coming down the hall and told me Lucy was doing great. Lucy asked the woman to wash her pacifier, which made me smile and know that she was doing okay since she asks us to do that all the time at home. I was so proud and for that moment I felt like I did something right as a Mom. :) I know, next week we could be back to kicking and screaming, but hey, one step at a time right? Hope you all had a super weekend and enjoy your last week of May....pools open this week, YAHOOOO!!!

3 Year Anniversary

Today I have been married to my wonderful husband 3 years(can you believe he has put up with me that long already?) We just got back from seeing the pastor that married us and tonight will be going to dinner while my in-laws watch Lucy(ahhhhhh.) We are so blessed.

Baby Will

We were so lucky and got to have my girlfriend and her ONE week old baby, Will, over today! Oh my gosh, he is adorable, Lucy loved him. I was excited to see how she would do with him at our house and when I held him, it was great, she was excited about his little hands and toes and worried about what he needed, my little mother hen. Lucy even got to hold Will, in fact, she was not thrilled about having to put give him back to his mommy. I also had to post Erin's picture with Will....yep, that woman just gave birth a week ago! I have to brag on my friend, she worked so hard during her pregnancy walking, eating right etc....and it paid off girl! Thanks for coming over to see us Will, we love you!

girly

Lucy was really girly tonight, obsessed over her lipstick, carrying around her purse and I couldn't resist a photo when she got on her phone talking to Minnie Mouse. She was literally having a conversation with her about doing the hot dog dance, then she hung up the phone and asked me if Minnie could come over!

horse farm

Lucy got to spend time at a horse farm today! She was a little shy and did not want to get too close, but she seemed to really love it. We were so impressed with how polite all the little girls were, trying to let Lucy see their horses, it was so cute. Lucy was also thrilled about getting to wear her cousin Jana's cowgirl boots!

painting

"Have fun painting without the mess!" These are the exact words on the packaging (you know where this is going.) Lucy's painting with her new Squeeze 'n Brush paints is pretty much EVERYWHERE! Here is even funnier wording on the package about cleanup: "washes from most fabrics in one or two washes." Two washes...I am lucky if I get one load of laundry done, ha! One more quote from the box(too good to resist sharing,) "No more messy bottles, jars and brushes." Hmmmm, they are called Squeeze 'n Brush...it is a tube with a brush on the end, in fact next to the name it says jumbo tip brushes! Okay, I am done, I just found this all hilarious. Lucy did love the painting, she just had a tough time getting the concept of squeezing the tube for the paint to come out of the brush. We ended with an awesome painting, so I am sure we'll pull this out on another rainy day.

Disney

We are back(our money is still there, but we are back!) Disney World is AMAZING! I can hardly choose which pictures to post, there are so many great ones. With Lucy's past record of her Santa and Easter Bunny visits we were not sure how the character greetings would go and to our surprise, she LOVED them, she couldn't get enough of seeing them. On the flip side, she was not so thrilled about meeting the princesses and fairies, which we thought for sure would be a hit since she loves Tinker Bell. Grandma Buni waited in the Fairy line for an hour just to see Lucy scream and pout when we tried to get her to say hello. Oh well, Daddy thinks those are some of the best photo moments(see picture with princess Aurora.) The parades....I cannot say enough about the parades, it turned all of us into a kid again(even Shawn, see picture with ears.) One of our not so great events was the Bugs Life Adventure, as you can see in the picture that Lucy has 3D glasses on, she is about to get scared out of her mind, which in turn made her REFUSE to go into any indoor show after that. We also stayed at the Nick Hotel, so that Lucy could meet the Dora/Diego crew....that kind of went like the princesses. Good news was that they had a life size plastic Dora outside that she couldn't get enough of. The other plus about the hotel for Lucy was the pool...yep, our little fish LOVED the pool. Following in Aunt Julie's footsteps, she is a daredevil and went down the slides by herself and was already jumping in, it was awesome to see her swimming...summer is going to be fun!
Okay one more funny story...
One day, I broke down with my prego body and rented a motorized cart. It was embarrassing most of the time, but good for me to get a rest. Anyway, at one point in the day I took Lucy on a ride and left my cart outside where Grandma Buni turned it into her sun chair. Now, if you look at the picture closely you will see that because the cart was parked in the middle of the walkway, most people that saw her, thought she might be dead. Shawn captured the moment on film, thank goodness, and we laughed the rest of the time about the picture.
To finish I just want to say that Disney is worth every penny to see and experience, at 34 I could hardly catch my breath walking in, I was so excited to see it, and it was even better than I imagined. It is a go go go vacation and I hope everyone gets a chance to do it once in their life. I am so lucky that I was there with my daughter, my hubby and my mummy, it was perfect. :) p.s. I also gained at least a pound a day, the treats are SOOO good and irresistible, so if you are going, pack your expandable clothes!
