We had our library friends, Josie and JT over to play today! The girls finally got to scream without us telling them to quite down and use library voices. JT enjoyed all the action around him, but he'll be chasing them before we know it!

I got to spend the day with the new baby in our family, June Francis...just ONE month old! Big brother Max was there too! I soaked up every second, June is already growing, but she was a snuggle bug. Thanks for a great day!

Einstein thingy

Long story...keep reading, it's worth it.

As most of you know, Violet is a stinker when it comes to sleeping in her room, but EVERY night we do what it takes to get her to start out sleeping in her crib.
Today, Lucy and I were at Target and found a play aquarium by Einstein that attaches to the crib to soothe them with scrolling fish and water/music. I am desperate at this point and threw it in the cart.
We got home and Lucy was going crazy to open it and ran upstairs with me to put it on the crib. She wanted to show Violet, but I told her I was waiting until bedtime, hoping it would be a new thing to focus on and fall asleep....PRAYING for that actually!
So...

When Daddy is not home bedtime is a juggle, which usually ends up with me convincing Lucy that she has to be a big girl and get herself to sleep while I am in Violet's room. I always promise Lucy that I will come back into her room. Tonight I went back into Lucy's room with Violet still crying and Lucy said, "Mommy what about that Einstein thingy."
I about fell over laughing! Seriously! I could only be honest and said, "We will be taking it back tomorrow, it didn't work."

chickens and cousins

Lucy got to spend some play time at Mommy's cousins today. They have baby chickens right now, so it was an extra special visit. At first Lucy wasn't so sure about them, she probably couldn't believe they were right there available for her to hold and play with. After some time outside and lunch, we gave the chickens a try again and they were a hit. The one Lucy is holding is, "Buffy." So fun for her....Mommy was very tempted to bring one home, but I have enough poo to clean up right now!

Happy Patty Day

"Happy Patty Day," as Lucy said all day!
I said I wasn't going to do it, but I started the day with a spark and decided, what the heck...parade here we come! We got dressed up in green and I loaded up the van, along with the potty chair (I wasn't about to tackle a port-a-pot with my new potty trained girl and an eight month old.) It was awesome, Lucy met "LuLu" the dog, we saw our friends in the parade and ate too much candy from the street.

fresh air

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh, FINALLY, a day to get out and enjoy the fresh air! Lucy has been asking constantly since vacation and today was the day! Check out these pics...


It was a must to zoom in on Lucy's face on that one...she is just like my sister, a little daredevil.

So, I was in and out of the house getting Violet bundled up etc. and this is what I walked out and found.... Lucy had put her chair right up to our new bird bath, she was not making a sound and sitting still(which never happens,) thinking one would come down for a bath right in front of her.

Of course our sweet Violet was out too....I am hoping she likes being outside as much as her sister.

My concern of the night... it was 8:21 when it finally got dark. It is March 16. Doesn't it seem a bit early for it to be so light so late? I can only imagine the stories I am going to have to come up with by June to get the girls in bed at a decent hour.

p.s. Daddy left for Vegas today, so I will be pulling a Gloria Gaynor until Sunday.... thinking now might be a good time to start drinking coffee?

week recap...

This week got past me fast, so here is a recap...


Lucy had her last gymnastics class and got her first ribbon, it was adorable, she was beaming!

We made it back to library class this week, it had been a while with colds and vacation.

Mommy and Daddy went down memory lane at Kilroy's Indy.



Papa C. came over for some playtime... and it is still true, kids like playing in boxes more than toys.

look who's crawling...

Our sweet Violet is CRAWLING!!! She was pretty close in Florida, but it is now official, tonight she crawled on hands and knees across the room! I cannot believe she will be EIGHT months on the 11th, oh where has 8 months gone? Well, my life will change tomorrow morning, I will now be gated into my living room/kitchen, so please come visit us!
