tricks after treats

Trick or Treat?? At our house, it was tricks after treats...
Okay, all you professional parents, here comes your laugh...
We let Lucy have a super fun Halloween. Yep, we let her open and eat on any candy she wanted, why not, it's just one fun night right? I knew the sugar was flowing through her veins when I saw her doing a jumping dance combo move. Bedtime was around the corner and Lucy seemed unusually calm, drinking her normal cup of milk and having a few expected silly moments.
...okay, here is where our trick comes.....
Lucy yells down from her bed for another cup of milk and we feel sorry for her, wondering if she has too much sugar in her belly and needs something to settle it.........Yes, we took her another cup of milk.....
.....YES, it came up five minutes later. So, after the vomit was cleaned off every square inch of Lucy and her bed, new sheets on and teeth brushed, she finally got to sleep after what I thought might be her favorite holiday, until the last five minutes.
I can hear my sister tell me, "milk is not good on the sugar belly."
Oh well, live and learn.

adirondack while they play

Today Lucy got a last minute invite to play with a friend at an indoor park. Actually it is a showroom floor for this company that sells these playsets, genius. I could hardly believe the price on one of the sets was $18,000 dollars, we'll never see that one in the yard! The place seemed very clean and oh yeah, they have Adirondack chairs everywhere, YEP, that's right, if you look at the first picture closely you will see those relaxing chairs for parents to sit in while your kids play, GENIUS! We'll be back all winter if anyone wants to join us!

the bumbo

Our neighbors gave us this seat when Violet was born, which we put away at the time. I was asking my friend the other day if her son was using one since he was sitting up now and she told me it was suppose to be used before they sit up. So, I ran down to the basement and pulled it out! We did not have a "Bumbo" when Lucy was a baby, so it was new for all of us.
So, here she is in her Bumbo....it is pretty cute, especially that her little legs fill out the openings, but it seems to do as it promises and holds her sitting up. Big sister likes it more than any of us and since she has little bird legs, she can fit in it too!

Saturday my hubby and I got out on the town, it was bliss.

Octoboo

Minnie & Daisy

Tonight the girls had their Halloween party(Octoboo) at the library, it was so fun to see all the kids dressed up. Lucy was like a deer in headlights at first, seeing all the different costumes. There were a ton of kids; ALL eating candy at bedtime, it was interesting. A Mickey in the crowd was thrilled to find my Minnie, but most of the kids that walked by us loved to point out that Violet was Daisy, it was sweet.

dressing herself

Lucy is all of a sudden into picking out what she is going to wear for the day, it can be interesting. Here she is today in her kimono and last weekend at a farm chasing chickens in her tutu.....

meet Pinto

I would tell you that Lucy has a new stuffed animal, but with his size, I am considering him a new family member....meet Pinto! This is a prime example of the gullible grandparent. Buni was here and had us at Costco for some over-sized bulk shopping. I couldn't resist and put Lucy up on the horse. She looked at Grandma with her big brown eyes and I knew in one second that Pinto was coming home with us. Lucy LOVES him! She has to mount him from the couch he is so big, LOL! Pony rides are now at our house for anyone interested!
p.s. the last picture was a must, I can't post without including my sweet Violet.

Violet's baptism

Yesterday our sweet Violet was baptized! It was a perfect day!

You also must see the cupcakes that I made....they have REAL violets on the top, they are sugared and they were so good! (I did not make the violets, ordered them online.)

Buni's here

Buni arrived yesterday morning , yipeeee! We had fun in the yard with the girls early evening, and later in the night Grandma's friend Michael arrived. The wine was flowing, which lead to dancing, but no night with The Gaber is complete without an injury. Last night it was another toe injury, and the sweet daughter that I am, I got a picture of the face in pain. Don't worry, she did not need the stitches she was screaming for, in fact, Michael couldn't find the cut, LOL.
Today is starting out as usual, Shawn put everyone through the P90X workout, who knows what else our day holds? Enjoy your Saturday everyone, the weather is PERFECT!

snack surprise

Lucy has been showing me this caterpillar treat in a Halloween cookbook for about a week, so today I surprised her after her nap with it on the table! She went crazy and the caterpillar was soon disassembled for eating, FUN surprise snack for my Lucy!

husband post

Shawn wanted to post my blog today...

"That's 16 bottles and two boxes of "on the go" formula...the "re-call" marketing efforts were genius.‏"

Guess I panicked last night over the shortage on liquid formula after the recall...I went to most stores in a 15 mile radius of us to stock our pantry. Sad news is, that this will only get us through 22 days of feedings. Hopefully the shelves will be restocked by then!

thank goodness for the hardwoods

Some times I hope that you all get my blog at a moment when a good laugh is needed. Whether you're laughing if you are a mom going through it, or because you are happy that I am going through it, here comes your laugh...
Lucy just came down from her nap and announced that she needed a new diaper as she began to pull the tabs on the sides. As the diaper fell to the ground, out fell a poo ball onto the hardwood floor! Yep, you read that right, I just had a poo ball rolling on my floor! THANK GOODNESS she was standing on the hardwoods! LOL is all I can do at this moment, oh, and clean the floors! :) Hope you are all having a great Monday!

pumpkin party

Sunday Grandma and Papa had all the kids in the family to the farm for a pumpkin party. They had a hayride out to a pumpkin patch that they grew just for the kids, it was so awesome! Grandma put together a table of fun snacks and prizes for the kids, so fun! The adults also got a special treat....warm cider, YUM! The weather was perfect for the occasion, way to go, thanks Papa and Grandma!
