Gosh, there is so much to say, I don't know where to begin. We got to watch Jonas' soccer game, he did awesome and Jack taught Lucy how to kick a soccer ball. Lucy got to go to church school with cousin Joey, it was adorable to see Joey(4) watching out for his cousin Lucy. One day we took all six kids to a Lego convention, which led us to drink a lot of wine that night after all six were in bed, LOL. We went to American Girl for shopping and lunch. It was amazing, Lucy now has her Just Like You, "Dolly." Joey was a trooper in the doll store, he even got an American Girl puppy, "Honey Puppy." It was hilarious when they brought out a boy doll, so Joey could have a doll at lunch too. It was even more funny to see how much Joey looked like the doll(see picture below.) Don't worry, we didn't come home with Joey's look alike, but we did come home with practically everything for Jana and Lucy....I think Julie and I enjoyed the shopping just as much. We got to relax at home a lot and have our silly mommy/sister moments after bedtime. Uncle John was busy a lot, but he did get some Violet snuggle time, he is such a softy for babies! Violet loved meeting her cousins and they LOVED her...holding her, kissing her, it was so. Thanks a zillion Boston family, we already miss you!

a 2nd use
I was hoping to use most of the things we had for Lucy as a baby....so, today I broke out the baby gym! Can you believe my big girl played under this and now her sister is? I can hardly believe their size difference laying side by side under this, hard to imagine that Violet will be big like Lucy before we know it!

Violet's first coos
Can you believe it, our sweet Violet is already cooing! It is the most precious sound, so I tried to capture some on video for everyone to hear... turn up your speakers!

we're back
Our weekend getaway to Monticello was great...there is more than corn in Indiana! We got to do so many different things, it was unexpectedly pleasant.
We found an ad for pony rides and decided to take Lucy, since she is really into animals right now. We drove and drove and drove, so we started to worry it would be one horse in a little oval for five minutes. We were super surprised to drive up and find a huge working ranch, Lucy was in awe and could not soak up enough of the ranch life.
Our cabin on Lake Shafer was so much fun. Lucy has been asking for weeks to go fishing, so we finally got her a pole and taught her how to fish, no luck the first day but she loved playing with the worms. Sunday morning I think Lucy's head was still on her pillow and she was asking to go fishing again, so we bundled up and decided to be the first with our pole in the water. We hooked him and Lucy was screaming, all the guests came out of their cabins to witness her big catch. We let Walter go back in the lake, but Lucy did ask to pet him first.
We also spent an afternoon at the Indiana Beach amusement park. Lucy got to ride most of the kiddie rides herself...a big step for her and a tough one for Mommy, hard to let my baby go do something that seemed a bit dangerous. In the end I was glad we let her go and she really loved it.
I could go on and on about our trip, but I'll just write about two more bliss moments... Sitting in the shade soaking up the fresh air with Violet in my arms taking a nap and taking Lucy on the paddle boat was also surprisingly peaceful, even my go go little Lucy sat still and soaked up the lake life!
