a new wagon ride

Lucy's wagon ride was a whole new adventure today...for both of us. Big sister loved having Violet in her wagon, but Mommy didn't know how heavy the load would be, so we only made it around the corner and back.
p.s. I cannot believe it has been over a week since I have blogged, I will get back on track soon!

day one...survived

Well, my mom left today at 5 a.m., so it was day one with my girls. To sum it up, we all ate lunch, we all got a nap and I even managed to go to the bathroom once. The house, a disaster, but...who cares. I am also pretty sure at around 5:00 p.m. I looked the most exhausted that I ever have. I am praying for a three hour sleep stretch tonight.
Five reasons why I know I'll make it:
1. my husband
2. a hot shower every morning
3. other women have done it
4. my mom hired us a cleaning lady for a month
5. my girls

V's blanket

My sister made a blanket with Lucy's name embroidered on it after she was born. So, of course I asked my her to make one for Violet. It is amazing...

daddy hugs

Daddy went back to work today, so Violet is sending him big hugs to make it a bit easier. It was hard for mommy to say bye too, but Grandma Buni is still here, so I am showered and off to a good start. Wednesday will be a different story...Buni says she is leaving Wednesday morning( I cannot even imagine,) if anyone has any ideas on how I can get her to stay, please share!

Violet Edith

Violet Edith was born Sunday July 11 at 9:17 a.m.! At 8 lbs. 9 oz. she is a big healthy girl and doing great. Big sister Lucy was not sure exactly what was going on, until we came home, another girl on her turf, look out. It has been interesting at times, mostly for Daddy since Lucy wants his attention 24/7 and won't let him hold Violet. On the flip side, Lucy loves to hold Violet, help with diaper changes and getting her pacifier. I am guessing I will be posting a lot of pictures for a while, I cannot resist all the photo ops of my girls!

I cannot believe I am 35 today, where did the last five years go? I am 39 weeks pregnant this week and for a wonderful start to my birthday I found out I am now 2 cm dilated! Let's hope my next post is our new baby girl! Thank you everyone for making my day so special and all the birthday wishes, I am so blessed with my family and friends.

1st pedal

Lucy pedaled all by herself today for the first time! It was only a couple rotations, but mommy is counting it, I am sure she'll be zooming out of the cul-de-sac before I know it. I hope everyone has a great holiday weekend!
