crafting gone bad

6+ with a 17 month old = craft project gone bad.

Ya know, most items these days are marked with the appropriate age, but who really looks at that? Turns out, I should have payed attention when I bought this craft project for Lucy. Here we are attempting a foam haunted house for six and older, lucky we didn't get the glue and little pieces out yet, stay tuned......

couch time

Here is my sweet Lucy having some couch time tonight with Daddy, playing games on his Iphone. Mommy is still trying to recover from the long weekend, I just don't bounce back anymore.
p.s. for those of you that keep asking, Shawn's best man speech was hilarious and there was a lot of skin...video will soon be on YouTube!

Marcus & Bethany's wedding

From the rehearsal(yes that is a pyramid at the restaurant) to the wedding, Marcus and Bethany's celebration was incredible, the open bar at every event was incredible too! :) Last picture is me over served kissing Marcus' picture(the tables were numbered with pictures of the bride and groom at that age, SO FUN)!

Lucy insisted on putting on her tutu tonight with her pj's! Hilarious.
p.s. I have been so busy this week, I have not had time to blog, sorry. To make a long story short... Parents, beware of giving your children Ibuprofen.

play time

Okay, had to post how proud of Lucy I am. Today she has been over the top happy enjoying her play time. I try here and there to be sure she has some time to learn to entertain herself and it usually lasts while I make dinner or something. Today she pretty much enjoyed the ENTIRE morning playing without mommy. Well, I should say, I was in the kitchen ten feet away(where I love to be), so she kept a close eye on me. There have been several moments I was ready to join her, but she is so happy, I didn't want to interrupt. I put lunch on a chair for her at noon and after her sandwich she came over and asked for a banana, so sweet! Right now as I type, she is sitting inside her plastic tub filled with stuffed animals reading a book to her baby doll, it is absolutely adorable. I went over at one point this morning and took this picture of her saying "cheese" to the camera :) Hope everyone has a great start to their week, Lucy sure is!

Suzanne's night out

Last night was Suzanne's bachelorette party! We picked her up in a limo and headed out in search of the perfect margarita(the tequila part of our theme, of course we had a theme). Suzanne started the night off with a toast, "you only get married twice once!" Our first stop conveniently had margaritas TO GO! It all went downhill from there...tequila shots with a margarita chaser, ouch(see picture below). At our second stop we did eat, but I think it went right to soaking up the tequila we already had in our system. The third stop is where we found the worst margarita EVER, in fact it was so bad we asked for some more tequila and that is when we were served an entire WINE glass of tequila, the picture alone makes you just want to puke(see below). At this point, Suzanne was not feeling so hot, BUT....she got a second wind at our fourth stop(see pictures). Unfortunately, she lost her second wind rather quickly(might have been the shots). Once Suz made herself cozy on the bar bench we realized it was time to take our bride home. The night was SO MUCH FUN and we are so happy for Suzanne and Gregg, may they spend a lifetime of love together! :)

Tater Tots

The new food Lucy tasted today....TATER TOTS! Uncle Marcus would be so proud(they're his favorite food). She might have been more excited to have ketchup in her cup, but I am counting it as her loving the tots. A couple of side notes: 1. Yes, she is naked under the bib, mommy was trying to spare one outfit from stains. 2. Tater Tots were not the only thing she had, for those of you wondering if I am feeding my girl more than fried foods for lunch, she also had strawberries and cheese. Hope everyone is having a super Wednesday!

APPLES!

This has been one of our favorite days ...we went to the apple orchard with my cousin and her two boys(Isabel is in school). So, I had to post this first picture because I think it's hilarious; Lucy looks so intent on getting the apple and she has a half eaten apple in the other hand as well as a mouth full of apple with juice dripping off her chin! My fruit lover was in HEAVEN today, walking around eating apple after apple. We also cut cabbage and watched them make apple cider and cornmeal. My new favorite apples are McIntosh, YUM, thanks Stuckey Farms! Signing off to make my apple pie now :)))

child proof??

I knew it was only a matter of time, because my sister had the same experience... Lucy can now open the "child proof" gates in our house. Yep. Very interesting. :-

grandma's birthday

Tonight we celebrated grandma's birthday, we got balloons and Daddy made his favorite mini pizza's. We sang to grandma and she opened a new macs tee from Lucy. What a fun evening! ... I had to include the second picture, I love Lucy's face looking at the brownies. :)

Her 1st Sentence!!

Lucy said her 1st sentence today!!! Can you tell I am in shock? While helping mommy with laundry, she held up my sock and said, "At mommy ock."(That's mommy's sock.) Lucy will be 17 months old on September 17, so this is a big milestone for us! :) So fun to see her develop every day, it is amazing how quickly she is learing, WOW :)

creamed peas and mashed potatoes

Lucy and I hung out tonight, so I thought it would be fun to make her Mommy's FAVORITE meal, ham and creamed peas with mashed potatoes! YUM, weird I know... and most of you might consider it torture, but in my house growing up the meal was a special treat and I'd beg for it! Lucy found it interesting and I am not sure how much actually went in her mouth, but it was delicious! We finished our night playing and started watching the Sound of Music, to continue the night of Mommy's childhood fun! Anyway, I hope everyone has a great holiday weekend. Do you think my 15 hours and 44 minutes of Labor gets me any credit tomorrow? HA HA.

cul-de-sac fun

Fun in the cul-de-sac with neighbors, love those last minute get-togethers! Lucy had a blast hanging out with all the kids, as always.

bike trailer

Lucy had her first ride in a bicycle trailer(neighbors) today! As you can see, she was not sure of it at first, so Bitty(one of her babies) had to ride too. We biked up to town, it was awesome!
